He is known for producing Japan’s first major role-playing video game The Black Onyx, and for revolutionizing the video game industry by securing the rights for the blockbuster game Tetris®. Today Rogers serves as Chairman of Blue Planet Software, the sole agent for the Tetris franchise, founder of Blue Startups, Hawaiʻi’s first venture accelerator, and founder of Blue Planet Foundation, a nonprofit clean energy advocate. Rogers manages the worldwide rights for the Tetris brand. Thirty years after its launch, Tetris continues to be one of the world’s top-selling games with over 425 million copies sold on the mobile platform alone and counting.
